Why We Need to Trim Down Excess Body Fat
I shared about a great combination to lose unwanted body fat in one of my posts today. One of my friends shared to me about apidexin, a fat loss pill that could be added up to that combination. To Mina, thanks a lot for sharing your thought.
Why we need to trim down our body fat deposits? What are its harmful effects to our body? Excess fat deposits in our body are tied up to serious physical threats like cancer, heart diseases and diabetes.
Lifestyle is a great factor why lots of people harbor excess fats on their body. Physical inactivity, choice of food, and vices like smoking and drinking alcoholic drinks are the major causes of it.
If lifestyle has been the great culprit, changing it could help a lot for you to reduce your excess body fats. Reducing your body fats will not reduce risk for you to acquire different diseases but more confidence on yourself as well.
Following healthy lifestyle like regular exercise, having the right diet (low fat), staying away from smoking and drinking alcohol habits, learning to handle daily stress in life, having time for relaxation and meditation, enough sleep, and optimism definitely you’ll attain your desired weight and normal body fat level.
Why We Need to Stay Away from Saturated Fats?
Too much eating of food rich in saturated fats could put you at risk for colorectal cancer. This kind of cancer grow silently and symptomless either in last 5-6 inches of your intestine or the last 8 inches of your digestive tract. Though colorectal cancer is deadly serious, it is preventable.
Healthy lifestyle is the key to prevent colorectal cancer. Proper diet, exercise, rest, optimism (to avoid accumulation of stress) and temperance are the most important aspects in healthy lifestyle that could protect us from acquiring colorectal cancer.
Diet plays the biggest role in acquiring colorectal cancer. Red meat? Lots of people love it. It is a source of protein but it is rich in saturated fats too. Why not limit high fatty foods especially red meat from your diet? Since fruits, vegetbles and fibers are gastrointestinal tract friendly foods, why not take most of it instead of fatty foods? Folic acid could lower the risk of colorectal cancer thus taking food rich on it is so beneficial.
Lack of exercise (especially those who are overweight) could put you at risk of colorectal cancer. Having time for exercise even at least 30 minutes everyday could lower your risk from acquiring it. Walking with your dog at the park, jogging, or playing some sports with your family or friends will not just keep you away from colorectal cancer but could also activate your happy hormones and lessen or totally eradicate stress you face everyday.
Vices like drinking alcoholic drinks and smoking could make you at risk on colorectal cancer. Alcohol could lower your body’s folic acid level while smoking could promote cell change in your body. Why stick to having some vices that could not just put you at risk to lots of diseases and eat up your budget?
Undergoing some screening tests could help us know our physical health status. Blood Tests, Fecal Occult Blood Test (FOBT) and Digital Rectal Exam are so simple tests but help a lot in detecting colorectal cancer. Some screening tests for colorectal cancer are sigmoidoscopy, colonoscopy, and double contrast barium enema.
The Difference In Nutritional Needs Between Men And Women
“Is there really a difference in nutritional needs between men and women?” My cousin asked that to me awhile ago. Though all of us need same essential elements for our body to function well, quantity of such essential nutrients differ, so I answered to him a big YES. I asked my cousin how come he asked such question to me. He said that as he browse the internet, he came in contact with the best multivitamin for men site. I am happy to know that at his young age he shows concern about health.
CARBOHYDRATES
Because of their body weight, men need more calories and fibers than women. Complex carbohydrates high in fibers from unrefined foods, fruits, and vegetables are the best source of it. Both men and women needs 45-65% carbohydrates of total daily calories.
PROTEIN
High body weight of men make them to require more protein than women. Too much of protein could deplete calcium level in women making them prone to osteoporosis. But, men have no excuse of consuming too much of protein too because kidney stones and crystallization of fluids in joints could result due to excessive intake of protein. Better check out URIC ACID CRYSTALS in Google for more info about the said stones due to excessive intake of protein.
FATS
Omega-3 fatty acids found in fish are good for our body, especially for our heart and blood vessels since it help sweep away the bad cholesterol out of our system and lowers triglyceride level. But, two studies in Harvard showed that omega-3 from vegetable source is not good for men. High intake of ALA from vegetable source by men could make them prone to prostate cancer.
CALCIUM
Calcium and vitamin D are good for our bones and in regulating our blood pressure. But, women need more calcium than men. For menstruating women like me, we need to have 1,000mg of calcium daily while menopause women need to take 1,200mg per day. As I have said earlier, men need less calcium. Their daily requirement (for all ages) is just 800mg per day. Too much of calcium intake for men could make them prone to prostate cancer.
IRON
Menstruation could lower our hemoglobin level due to lose of blood. As we all know iron is one of the important component of hemoglobin in Red Blood Cells thus menstruating women need more iron than men and menopause women. Pregnant women need extra iron too for the baby for its development.
But, it does not mean that non-menopause women need more iron that we have to take excess of it. Taking iron supplements is not recommended unless you are diagnosed of certain type of anemia. Iron supplementation needs doctors advise.
As most people say: Men are from Mars while women are from Venus. That is why we have different nutritional body needs. You need not to scrutinize all the essential nutrients how much you need to take more for you to be healthy. As for me, the best rule is BALANCE DIET. Too much of good things could be harmful to our health while lacking of it could result to failure in functioning well of our body. BALANCE IS THE KEY.
How to Show Love to Your Heart and Blood Vessels
As the saying goes: “Tell me who your friends are and I will tell you who you are.” We could also say that: “Tell me what is your lifestyle and I will help you determine your health.” Diet, physical activities, and presence or absence of vices are some of the factors that help determine your physical health. If you practice healthy lifestyle and has a positive outlook in life from your early age, diabetes, hypertension, heart disease and other illnesses due to unhealthy lifestyle will not befriend you for sure.
Doctors try their best to give the best cholesterol treatment to their patients to help the functioning of heart and blood vessels to be maintained on its normal level but it should be accompanied with cooperation of patients to change their lifestyle as well. But, some people made their maintenance medication an excuse to eat food they want with their crooked reasoning.
Following healthy lifestyle since younger years will make your blood vessels as if like express highway roads for your blood to flow well carrying nutrients and essential things to millions of cells in your body. But, unhealthy diet, especially those rich in trans fats and cholesterol, accompanied by lack of exercise plus too much alcohol intake along with smoking addiction, definitely your blood vessels that are as wide as express highways will be as narrow as 2-way road because of accumulated waste materials called “bad” cholesterol or low density lipoproteins (LDL) that cling to the blood vessels.
Whether our blood vessels are narrow or wide our Red Blood Cells need to produce same amount of nutrients to the millions of cells in our body that need not to be delayed or else our body will not function well. In order for the Red Blood Cells to compensate for the narrow blood vessels, heart need to pump faster for the blood to flow faster as well through the narrow blood vessels. Consistent too much workload for the heart and too much pressure to the blood vessels could result to Coronary Artery Disease, stroke and other health problems.
Maintenance medication for hypertension and high cholesterol level help stretch your blood vessels for the blood to flow well without much pressure. While following healthy lifestyle help you sweep away the accumulated bad cholesterol that cling to the blood vessels.
What you can do aside from following healthy lifestyle? Better have a regular check up of blood pressure and your lipid level with Lipid Profile test on the laboratory. Lipid profile is composed of 5 tests namely Total Cholesterol, Triglycerides, High Density Lipoprotein (HDL) or good cholesterol level test, Low Density Lipoprotein (LDL) or bad cholesterol level test and Very Low Density Lipoprotein Level Test.
How to Stay Away from Joint Pain
Joint pain? I hope I will not encounter it due to poor choice of food and unhealthy lifestyle.
Lots of people who claim that they are concern about their health watch for their calorie intake only. Proper nutrition as we all know does not just involve taking the right amount of calories to take but careful selection of food as well.
Right amount of food means taking the right amount of all the nutrients our body is needing–carbohydrates, fats, proteins, vitamins and minerals, and water. So as the food that are not that essential but could help us sweep away the toxins from our body like those that are rich in phytochemicals.
Well-balanced diet could give us not just healthy immune system and more energy but can lower blood pressure level and lessen our risk from acquiring diseases such as cancer, diabetes, and other diseases, even joint pain.
Adult individuals, especially those in their ripe age of 50 and beyond, needs extra nutrients. Some adjust their diet while others prefer to take in food supplements. It is much more healthy to do this plus doing other aspects in healthy lifestyle like exercise, rest and staying away from harmful vices than taking in prescribe medications if you are already suffering from consequences of an unhealthy lifestyle, especially in diet.

Water helps maintain weight control in long term thus drink at least 8 glasses of water everyday.
FIBER
Fiber-rich foods contain less calories so eat lots of it instead. Aside from it makes you feel full, it helps eliminate waste substances through bowel. Better start doubling your fiber intake because fiber could help you lose weight too up to 10 pounds a year.

Nutrients That Boost Healthy Liver
You want to know some nutrients that boost healthy liver? I only knew three of them but you can add some on comment section if you know the other nutrients needed for a healthy liver. What are the three nutrients I am saying? Just remember the acronym ACE if you want a healthy liver. ACE stands for Arginine, vitamin C and vitamin E.
Arginine detoxifies ammonia. If liver do not work properly, ammonia accumulates. That’s why we need arginine. Vitamin C from fresh fruits and vegetables neutralizes the toxins in your body that are usually filtered out in the liver. While vitamin E inhibits the production of peroxidized fats. Peroxidized fats are responsible in lowering immune system and liver damage. Whole grain, oils, fruits and vegetables are the great source of these three nutrients. Be a liver lover by eating plant foods rich in ACE nutrients.
Chicken Meat – A Healthy Alternative for Beef and Pork?
Are you one of those who made chicken meat a healthy alternative for beef and pork consumption? Many people resort to consumption of chicken meat because of fear of cholesterol and high fat content of beef and pork thinking they made a healthier choice if they consume chicken.
I knew someone who is into poultry business. They themselves seldom eat chicken because of the multi-growth enhancing techniques made to the chickens to make sure that their chicken are big and meaty and ready for sale just in short period of time compared to if they will just let their chicken grow in a natural way.
If you will check the diet of chicken grown in poultry, they are fed with unnatural diet (feeds). And the worst thing is they are grown in a limited space for them not to move well. Now, with all these facts, tell me how can you expect that chicken meat is healthy and low in fat and cholesterol? I was not surprised to hear that skinless chicken has 18 percent of its calories from fats, how much more if skin is included? Did you know that chicken skin is rich in bad cholesterol?
I seldom eat chicken, and if I do I prefer to eat “native chicken”, those that eat natural food (grains and coconut meat) and exercise a lot everyday, those chicken that you need to hide, seek and run after your choice to be meat before you can sip a hot chicken soup. Wow, it is really satisfying to eat such kind of chicken.
If you are aiming to consume no bad cholesterol and low fat foods, eat lots of fruits and vegetables instead of meat. Fish is more healthy alternative to beef and pork consumption than chicken meat. But, beans and grains combination is the most healthy alternative for meat if we talk about protein. Aside from protein and other essential nutrients, you can get fibers from fruits and vegetables which cannot be found in meat.
