A Salute to Responsible Fathers

It is already June. June is not just an ordinary month since June and July are mid-months of the year. Aside from that lots of couples love to have their wedding on June than in any other months. Father’s Day celebration is on the month of June too, and birthday celebration of my mom as well. Advance Happy Birthday Mom! And of course, June is especial to Filipino people since we celebrate Independence Day on June 12. Not just that, proclamation of newly elected President and Vice President of the Philippines falls in June too.

Speaking of marriage ceremony and be a father to a child are exciting events for men. Lots of fathers says that being a father is so easy to do but to be a responsible parent is a different story, not an easy task to do. Responsible fatherhood needs unceasing painstaking effort that not all father could do it to their children.

Being a role model to his kids, to guide his kids to the right path, be on their side to help his kids achieve their goals how small or big it is, taking time to play with his kids, and give financial and other support they need really take time, effort and a goal. Responsible fathers constantly strive to be the kind of person that their kids would be proud of. That is how one father defined how responsible fatherhood is to him.

To all kids out there, Father’s Day might be the best day for you to let your father feel that you are blessed for all the love care, guidance and support he gave you to let him feel so special. But, please take note that not all fathers are as responsible parent as yours, so let him feel that you are blessed by being supportive and grateful on everything he does by acknowledging his good deeds even not on Father’s Day.

The Announcements I Love to Hear

Wedding, birthday, and graduation announcements, are some of the memorable announcements we love to hear from loved ones and friends knowing these are special moments of their lives. Speaking of graduation, getting an education does not just eat up our time but effort and goal as well. That’s why I want to salute to all May 2010 graduates. Congratulations guys!

Speaking of announcements, as a health advocate through blogging, it will be a music to my ears to hear from people announcing that they want to graduate from their old lifestyle and embrace healthy lifestyle from now on. I am looking forward that one of my avid readers here will announce words like that.

I know that it is much more tempting to eat processed foods since those kind of foods were made to be more palatable to our taste and so easy to prepare than cooking and eating plant foods. It is more tempting to sit on a couch, munch some potato fries or other junk foods while watching TV than taking time for an exercise. It is more tasty to drink soda, coffee, or artificial juices than plain water. You are not alone my friend, I myself is struggling everyday for me to keep my lifestyle as fit as possible.

Positive outlook and a goal to live a healthy lifestyle accompanied by effort to realized our goal are things we need for us to be well, always.

Do I Need to Promote Myself?

I had my thirty-first birthday last March 17 and I really appreciate the warm greetings from almost 200 friends and relatives who greeted me on my special day. Though I had no party celebration for that day, they let me feel special with their greetings. Thanks to hi-tech communication tools nowadays that always make things possible to be reached by people from anywhere in the world.

Most of my relatives teased me that I am on my ripe age to marry. One of my cousins jokingly told me to give promotional calendar as my personalized gift this coming December 2010 instead of any other personalized gifts  to my friends, relatives, and acquaintances if I am still single that time. Adding my attractive pictures and some info to it, I will definitely have a line of suitors who will visit me everyday. My cousin got the craziest idea ever to tease me on my birthday. Promotional calenders are effective tool to promote companies  or to increase brand awareness of certain products to the market because people keep it for 12 months and stare at it almost everyday. Given that it is an effective tool for promotion, do I really need to promote myself, especially that way? Ha ha.. my cousin’s idea made me really laugh out loud.

A healthy body and mind, and an optimistic spirit always, everyday, are my personal wishes. Good health, peaceful and loving spirit, and financial stability are my wishes for everybody.

Remembering The First Tie

Kids ties? I remember my 24-year old younger brother wearing a tie going to the church way back while he’s still a kid. The very first time he wear one was when he decided to attend a worship service at school one Sabbath morning on his own, the rest of us went to church nearby. As he arrived home, he said that if there was an awarding for the most formal in attire, he’ll definitely come out as the big winner in kids category.

He’s of shy type personality during his childhood years but his potential in speaking and in leadership skills come to realization starting that same day as he wear his necktie for kids when one of his mentors assigned him to teach part of their lesson during Sabbath School. As of now? He is  a young professional working in an accounting firm. And, is wearing a necktie everyday going to his work.

Currently, my brother is living  miles away from our place. He called up last night to greet me a Happy Birthday. I hope and pray that he is always in the best of health.
