The Most Powerful Way to Strengthen The Immune System
What is the simplest but the greatest way to strengthen your immune system without even spending a single coin to buy a cheapest pill to boost it? LAUGHTER.
That is how powerful laughter is, it could boost immune system, the thymus gland in particular. Thymus gland is a primary organ of our immune system that is closely linked to zygomaticus major, the smile muscle.
So, if you feel you are powerless in a high stress situation humor could help you not be engulfed by stress for it to produce depression, anxiety, a chemical imbalance in your body, or an evident illness by lowering your immune system. Old saying “A merry heart doeth good like a medicine” should be our motto and be religiously taken like taking a nutritious meal.
Positive thinking itself could boost serotonin-an antidepressant neurotransmitter. If you add smile or laughter to it, your Immunoglobuline Antibody A (IgA) level will increase as well. So, why choose to frown when problem arrives or suppress a chuckle when all the people around you are bursting to laughter if it has great impact in your physical and psychological health?
Why wait for you not to feel well before you practice the most powerful way to strengthen your immune system if you can do it several times a day? Wait no more. Spread it to people around you by giving a smile and a greeting to a stranger or by spreading the virus of laughter to your family and friends with your jokes.
Tips In Coping With Stress
Stress relievers? We all need it because we all face stress everyday, it just differ on how big or small is the challenge and how we deal with it. Exercise, meditation, music therapy, aromatherapy, and breathing technique are some of the usual stress relievers recommended.
Researchers has some recommendations in coping with stress. Here are some personalized general guidelines how to deal with stress:
1. Instead of treating the stressful situation as threat, why not treat is as challenge. Learn to deal directly with the problem.
2. If you feel that the stress seems insurmountable, make it less threatening. Why not take view the problem in different way and take a different approach if the problem seem so hard to solve?
3. Alter your goal. In a situation where it seems you cannot do anything better or it seems you are at the dead end, the most reasonable thing to do is to change your goal or simply reshape it.
4. Take an action. As we all know, most illnesses that people are suffering now are due to stress. You can alter your physiological reaction like blood pressure and heart rate affected by stress by taking one or some of the many stress relievers. Regular exercise, right diet, meditation, and breathing technique are some of stress relievers you can do to fight the harmful effects of stress to our body.
Stress and Its Impact to Your Child’s Health
Stress could cause physical and mental illness, lots of research studies have proven that. Children are not excused of the bad effect of stress. I have read a book showing a research outcome that children who are exposed to high level of stress or of those who have problem on their family (like poverty, growing-up with a single parent, or having dispute on their family) are more likely to become ill. They are high in vulnerability to health problems like asthma, headaches and other illnesses.
Not only that, because of poverty children are subject to poor diet making them suffer from malnutrition and poor health. As we all know, physical and mental health go hand in hand, how will you expect children who are poor in nutrition to learn like those who are well provided by their parents? How will you expect kids to concentrate on their studies if all they could hear at home is yell from their parents?
I hope parents will be much more responsible by acknowledging that children could suffer from bad effects of stress, not just adult individuals. That, if they themselves suffered from insurmountable stress at work should not bring the problem at home. Children, even at their very young age, are facing challenges in life too that they need help from their parents to face the daily challenges they encounter.
If poverty could not be totally eradicated as soon as possible that produce a great bulk of stress to the family, at least parents should learn to become more effective in parenting skills and be a good model to their kids, at least with these steps taken stress from daily life that their kids are encountering are lessened.
Understanding Addiction Problem
Most of us could handle and develop methods for dealing with stress that we encounter. But, there are times that other people could no longer bear with the load of stress they have that they resort to alcoholism and drug addiction or may employ neurotic defenses.
As I browse the net I have been to Passages Malibu Addiction Cure Center web page and so as watched the Passages Malibu video. I really appreciate on their approach of helping addicted people to truly stay out from addiction for good because they deal on the underlying cause of addiction, not just the addiction itself that encourage me write this article.
I pretty agree with Passages Malibu. Alcoholism, drug addiction and other form of addictions are behavior disorders and are problem but not the main problem why people suffer from addiction. Addiction has been addicts way in handling disruptive stress they encountered in their lives.
It is innate in human beings that if we feel stress we are motivated for its reduction. Aggressive behavior, rigidity, withdrawal, and disorganized behavior are the basic reactions to stress. Stressful conditions like frustration, guilt, conflict, or anxiety, due to relationships problem, financial pressures, work pressures, and other demands or pressures in life could trigger some people to use drugs, alcohol and other forms of addiction in handling stress that are greater than the individual can deal with. But, some people could adjust more effectively on stressful situations. They become more motivated to learn and to achieve more of their aspirations through the stressful situations they went through.
We have different capacity in handling stress. That, there are people who can withstand stress better than the other. The best thing about Passages Malibu is that they help people who are suffering from addiction to cope with their underlying problems that lead them to addiction while dealing with their addiction problem and not just the addiction problem itself.

The Effects of FEARS on Our Health
Literal fear that may develop to anxiety may sent some nerve impulses to your gastrointestinal system to cause you to vomit or to head thus, causing headache. These are the common symptoms my youngest sister usually feels before an examination when she is not ready.
I remember the message our brother in church shared to us. It is about two kinds of FEARS. The first one is the cause and the other one is the remedy. And, what is the fears I am referring that may trigger health problems? Frustration, Envy, Anger, Resentment, and Sadness. These negative feelings could produce great changes on our normal body functioning. FEARS are emotional stress that could affect the functioning of the heart.
Holding back the anger could result to heart attack. Stress could elevate some hormones that raises blood pressure level and suppress the immune system. Stress could also cause muscle tension causing neck and back pains, and gastrointestinal and nervous system disturbance.
The best remedy for those physical ailments due to FEARS is FEARS as well. But, it resembles as Faith in God, Exercise, Acceptance of ourselves and others, Rest, and Singing. If you know someone suffering from FEARS that resulted to physical ailments, share also the best remedy for it – FEARS as in Faith in God, Exercise, Acceptance of ourselves and others, Rest, and Singing.

Here are another stress management tips I want to share to you today. It is collectively called hydrotherapy or water therapy.
First is the warm water therapy. A lukewarm bath for 15 minutes in a tub or hot spring will do a lot in relaxing your muscles that were tensed and nervous system that was highly excited while you are facing a stressful situation. This will be more effective if you add more or less 8 drops of lavender or rosemary essence in your hot bath. A hot shower is a good alternative for this.
Sauna is another great place for stress management. Spending 30-45 minutes on sauna produce relaxation and has purifying effect on the body. It helps in eliminating waste substances through the skin and your organs to function well.
Sauna helps a lot in combating stress if you take a cold shower every 15 minutes throughout the session.
Third is salt water therapy or thalassotherapy. Yes, swimming at the beach is a good way of stress management. It can also stimulate the metabolism and aids the internal secretion glands to function well. Adding bath salt to your lukewarm water bath is an alternative for this.
Fight that Chronic Fatigue
Chronic fatigue could depreciate critical thinking. People who are suffering from chronic fatigue usually are sleep deprived. Sleep deprivation affects most complex mental functioning like the ability of the person to be aware and comprehend, adjust, and plan under rapid changing situations.
Chronic fatigue slows down mental processing. Even simple tasks is done more slowly and less in accuracy if person is suffering from chronic fatigue. It losses its ability to to make decisions quickly especially on difficult situations. Faulty environmental perception is also present.
Individuals who suffered from chronic fatigue feels an enduring tired experience resulting to poor interpersonal relationships, irritability and poor tolerance for daily stress. In the long run, bad habits like irritability due to chronic fatigue may become part of a persons character.
Fighting chronic fatigue is so easy. Here are my simple tips:
- Plan your daily schedule to avoid stress.
- Take time to relax, have short breaks for some stretch during working hours.
- Do not do all things in one day that are usually done for two days.
- Drink at least 8 glasses of water everyday for hydration.
- Lessen your food intake when tired and eat light meal for dinner.
- Have a fix time for exercise. 30 minutes to an hour a day will do a lot.
- Take time to relax your mind and count your blessings at the end of the day.
- Good night sleep for 8 to 9 hours is necessary.
