The Power of Thoughts
If you want to lose weight, aside from diets for quick weight loss and exercise, you need to be happy and think positively that you will lose weight for you to gain great result. As the Law of Attraction says, “If you focus on positive things you’ll attract good into your life. And if you worry constantly and think negatively, you may attract more of that into your life.”
The idea is so simple: Human minds are like magnets that could attract what we are holding on our minds, it may be emotions, beliefs, or any thinking that our mind is focus on.
If positive thoughts could boost the immune system, negative emotions and thoughts could cause physical changes in our body that may lead to some ailments. Some people says that it is so hard for a disease to penetrate to people with healthy emotional state.
Worry can cause stress that when piled up could trigger some health problem. Diarrhea, insomnia, gastrointestinal problems, heart palpitation and lowering of immune system are some of the outcome of worrying too much.
Attract all things that are positive. Fill your mind with positive thoughts for you to be healthy always.
Is it Possible to Die From A Broken Heart?
It is almost Valentine’s Day and all I could hear from single people are love, love and love. Love indeed is in the air nowadays. But, Valentine’s Day reminded me of how I experienced my first broken heart, so cheesy indeed, huh?
Some people says broken heart pain is nothing more than a folklore. I was not convinced that broken heart has no physical effect because I really felt a literal pain by the time I experienced it. I was encourage then to have some info about broken heart pain and how to cope up.
Stress cardiomyopathy or broken heart syndrome could be due to emotional shocks such as traumatic romantic break up, death of a loved one, or a shock in a surprise party. It has been found out that with stress cardiomyopathy or broken heart syndrome, stress hormone could shoot up to three times higher than those suffering from heart attack though patients possess unclogged and healthy arteries. Grief could stress the cardiovascular system thus causing a heart attack-like syndrome.
It is indeed possible to die from broken heart thus you need not to grieve that much. You can prevent yourself from suffering from stress cardiomyopathy or broken heart syndrome by drinking plenty of water (more than 8 glasses of water daily), take sufficient rest (8 hours sleep), having time for exercise everyday (at least 30 minutes everyday) and in learning things how to cope up stress.
The Importance of Positive Thoughts
How important is your thoughts? Thoughts are extraordinary motivators because thinking shapes our behavior. So, it is very much important to protect our thoughts from discouragement, anxiety, depression and other negative feelings.
Why not supply your thoughts with positive things such as counting the blessings you received, great things you can do to your fellowmen and success you can have in the future? Instead of being discourage in facing failures and difficulty, why not make it a stepping stone instead? Be optimistic, be a positive thinker. Think and aim of good health when facing some health problems. Learn from your past mistakes and stand again.
I remember my favorite poem on my high school days that I really love to recite. It has a part that says: “The world is like a mirror reflecting back to you, whatever you have given it whatever is your view… So, always keep your spirit up and hope for what is best. Look for the good in everyone and see what’s happiest.” Why not practice feeling happy thoughts and positive things towards the people you meet instead of the things you do not want in them?
There are lots of promises in the Bible too that you could supply your mind if you are tempted to think discouragement and other negative thoughts. Try to check them out and memorize some of them.
Effects of Attitude on Health
Attitude especially on how we perceive things has great effect on our health. There are two kinds of attitude, the positive attitude and negative attitude. Attitude plays a big role how we face problems, failures, pain, success, and assigned tasks.
Lots of people when they unexpectedly face failure or problems in life become bitter, angry, and resentful. Some redirect their mind to drugs, alcohol or food just to forget or temporarily escape from their problems. Others will pretend that the problem does not exist, as if nothing happened, and go on with what they used to do. Sometimes we need to go through feelings like that until we are ready to face the real situation and see the positive things that could come out of it.
Our incapability to acknowledge the fact that pain and problems are normal part of life could lead to stress, emotional illness, health problems such as hormonal imbalance and hyperacidity, and diseases like hypertension and certain heart ailments. We need to know how to handle the problems we face to avoid stress build-up that may result to health problems. Worry about the future is one of stressors that could result to health problems that should be avoided.
You can improve your health by having positive outlook in life and happiness in your heart. Pleasant thoughts and feelings could boost your immune system and promotes hormonal balance. So, practice the positive attitude in you most of the time to maintain wellness.
Too Much Concern About Grades
Too much concern of students about their grades could create stress. I asked some high school students what worry them most, most of them answered their “grades”. I cannot blame them why they worry about it too much because with it they could either receive praises from their parents or a long sermon because of low or failing grades. Grades give parents the idea of how their kids are doing in school.
Poor students usually blame their poor performances on other sources such as prejudiced teacher, unfair test questions and bad weather. They could not admit that the usual reason for bad grades is laziness. It is not new to us that many students manage to get passing grades through guessing what is the right answer, cramming or even cheating. How could poor students develop their thinking ability if they just do like that?
On the other hand, good students take responsibility of their learning. They highly accept that good grades depends on them, on how hard they study and apply what they learn and not on the factors beyond their control. They set goals and organize their time to study.
How about your school kids? Hope you will find time to guide your kids on their studies.
